Langtang - Gosainkunda - Helambu Trekking
The Langtang Himal is a region north part of Kathmandu valley and it lies just south of Tibetan border. The Langtang valley is surrounded by high peaks of great appeal. The course from the Langtang valley to Goshaikunda is full of diversity and it is attracting many tourists. Goshaikunda is one of the Hindu holy places and is considered to be made by Lord Shiva. The Buddhist Tamang that lives nearby also reveres it as their holy place. Every August on full moon night, lake is thronged with pilgrims for a big festival. On other days the lake sits in a tranquil atmosphere.Helambu is the most easily accessible of all areas from Kathmandu. It lies about 70km. north of Kathmandu valley, is an area inhabited by Sherpas. The language, culture and dress of the Helambu Sherpas are very different from those of Solu Khumbu Sherpas. You will explore the amazing historic and cultural sites during the full day exploration of the Kathmandu. While driving to different parts of Kathmandu valley, you will learn something about the life in the capital city. The tour today mixes culture, history and spirituality together to give you an exceptional city touring experience.
The sites you will visit today are as listed below.
Swoyambhunath – This ancient site is the oldest of all sites in Kathmandu. You will find a giant white dome with golden shrine on top of it. This ancient Buddhist stupa is one of the most important spiritual sites in Kathmandu valley. This place is also popular as monkey temple because of the presence of monkeys around the site. You can enjoy the view of Kathmandu valley and the mountain peaks on a clear day from the top.
Patan Durbar Square – This site is a medieval royal palace square. Of the three medieval royal palace squares in Kathmandu valley, this one is the royal palace of the medieval kingdom of Patan. You will explore medieval art and craftworks and the pagoda architecture. The palace square is an excellent hub to enjoy the skills of the artisans. The surrounding locality of the square gives an excellent local lifestyle and culture.
Boudhanath – The biggest Buddhist monument of its kind, Bouddhanath is the most important Tibetan Buddhist pilgrimage site in the country. It is also one of the UNESCO’s heritage sites. The beautiful square and the giant shrine in the middle of it provide a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere around.
Pashupatinath – This Hindu temple area will provide you an opportunity to observe the Hindu death rituals and cremation in open platform on the bank of the River Bagmati. Visiting this site gives us the experience of culture and tradition in the Hindu faith system that completely contrasts with other systems around the world.4. day - Drive from Katmandu to Syabru Besi (1462m) that takes 8-9 hours drive, overnight at lodge/camp.
5. day Trek from Syabru Beshi to Lama Hotel (2410m.) and it takes about six hours overnight at lodge/camp.
6. day Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3330m.) which takes about five hours overnight at lodge/camp.
7. day Trek from Langtang village to Kyangjin (3730m.) and it takes about four and half hours overnight at lodge/camp.
8. day Rest day in Kyangjin. It is a day to rest and explore the area overnight at lodge/camp.
9. day - explore to Tsergo Ri (4984 m) takes about 7 Hrs
10. day Trek from Kyangjin to Lama Hotel (2410m.) which takes about five hours overnight at lodge/camp.
11. day Trek from Lama Hotel to Thulo Syabru (2130m.) and it takes about six and half hours overnight at lodge/camp.
12. Tag Trek from Thulo Syabru to Chandan Bari (3330m) which takes about five hours overnight at lodge/camp.
13. day Trek from Sing Gompa to Goshaikunda (4380m.) and it takes about five hours overnight at lodge/camp.
14. day Trek from Goshaikunda to Ghopte (3430m.) which takes about seven hours overnight at lodge/camp.
15. day Trek from Ghopte to Tharepati (3500m.) which takes about five hours overnight at lodge/camp.
16. day Trek from Thadepati to Tarkeghyang (2743m.) via Melamchi Gaon (2640m) that takes 5-6 hours walking, overnight at lodge/camp.
17. day Trek from Tarkeghyang to Shermathang (2621m.) that takes 4-5 hours walking, overnight at lodge/camp.
18. day Trek from Shermathang to Melamchi Pool Bazaar (846m.) that takes 4-5 hours walking, overnight at lodge/camp
19.day Drive from Melamchi Pool Bazaar to Kathmandu which takes about four and half hours.

Requirements
You will find the level of difficulty and the type of accommodation of each journey in the program.
Equipment
You are going to get an equipment list as recommendation together with your travel documents. The equipment for a tent trekking (tent, mattresses etc.) will be organized locally.
Luggage
You are allowed to check in 20 kg as well as you can take 5 kg of hand luggage with you. If you would like to travel with a trolley case, we kindly ask you to take an additional big backpack with you. Luggage which you do not need while trekking can be deposit for free in Kathmandu.
Entry
For the entry to Nepal you need a passport which is valid further than 6 month after your departure date. You will receive your visa upon your arrival at the airport in Kathmandu. You will be told about the visa expenses while booking, since the fee changes from time to time.
Health
Himalaya Trekking suggests seeing your doctor or a tropical doctor as early as possible so you will be informed about current provisions regarding injections. Pharmacy or a doctor will help you regarding your personal trip first aid travel kit.
Group size
Himalaya Trekking guarantees for every tour. We do not have any minimum size for a group, but we do have a maximum of 12 persons per tour.
Tour program
The daily program should be seen as very flexible since we have to consider the local circumstances as well as your physical condition. Your guide will plan with you every evening the next day.
Travel documents
You are going to receive the detailed travel documents with general information as well as your flight tickets 2 to 3 weeks before departure.
Tipping
The tip for the local guides and carrier are not included in the travel costs. It is common to tip them for a good performance.
Accommodation and meals
The overnight stays in Kathmandu and Pokhara will be in a middle class hotel. The restaurants can be chosen individually, as lunch and dinner are not included in the travel costs.
During a lodge trekking the hike will be trough village to village. You will stay overnight in a basic hostel and you are going to have your meals there or in a restaurant on the way. During the camp trekking you are going to stay in one man or two-person tents and all the meals will be provided by private cook.
Insurance
Himalaya Trekking recommends having travel insurance as well as a cancellation protection. We also recommend having a copy of your police with you.
Climate
The weather in Nepal is nice. The summer is together with the monsoon season from June to October, the rest of the year is dry. There is mild climate in the Kathmandu valley, during the summer time around 20-30°C and in the winter time around 0-15°C.
Please consider the climate for your travelling plans, since the county covers a height form 75 MASL to 8848 MASL. Therefor the climate changes and if you are in the wrong place to the wrong time you will probably not see the Himalaya. However there still is a suited journey for every time period!
