Annapurna Basecamp Trekking with Chitawan National Park
Annapurna Base Camp Trekking is a classical trek. The trekking brings us to the base camp of the southern Annapurna. The view alongside the route is unforgettable beautiful. Passing terraced farms you will reach the Machhapuchhre base camp. Some of the best and most stunning impressions offers the south view of the Annapurna (8091 MASL) and the view of Machhapuchhre. The wonderful sight of ten further mountain peaks, all higher than 6000 meters, are making this trekking to a true adventure.
1. Day - Departure
2. Day - Arrival in Kathmandu
Transfer from the airport to the hotel. After a short relaxation time you can have a tour with your guide through a part of the city.3. Day - Drive to Pokhara
In the evening you will be accompanied through the city. Pokhara is a beautiful city at the shore of the Fewa Lake, near by the Annapurna mountain chain.4. Day - Drive to Hile - Trekking start
Your trekking starts in Hile. Today you will hike to Ulleri (1960 MASL).5. Day - Ulleri – Ghorepani (2850 MASL)
The hike will go through rhododendron forest up to Ghorepani. You will cross the villages Banthanthi and Nayathanti.6. Day - Ghorepani – Tadapani (2600 MASL)
Early in the morning you will hike to the Poon Hill (3210 MASL). There you will enjoy the sunrise and a manificent panorama view to the Annaparna and the Dhaulagiri mountain range. After breakfast you will hike to Tadapani.7. Day - Tadapani – Gandruk (1900 MASL)
Today you are going to hike downhill to Ghandruk, a Gurung village. The Gurungs are one of many ethnical groups. Many of them serve as Gurkha soldiers.8. Day - Gandruk – Chhomrong (1970 MASL)
You will hike through rice and millet fields towards the Annapurna base camp. Today’s overnight stay will be in Chhomrong.9. Day - Chhomrong – Himalaya Hotel (2800 MASL)
The hike starts after breakfast along the Modi valley, via Sinuwa and Dovan, to the Himalaya Hotel. The hike runs through a bamboo forest.10. Day - Machhapuchhre base camp (3800 MASL)
Today you will overcome a great difference in altitude. The camp is near by the holy mountain Machhapuchhre (6993 MASL).11. Day - Annapurna base camp (4200 MASL)
Today’s hike to Annapurna base camp is relatively short. After lunch you will be able to discover the near surroundings and you can enjoy the view to the Annapurna I (8091 MASL), Annapurna glacier and other peaks.12 Day - Annapurna base camp – Sinuwa (2340 MASL)
Today you will hike the same way back to Sinuwa.13. Day - Sinuwa – Jhinu Danda (1450 MASL)
The hike today will go in the direction of Chhomrong. There you will leave the Ghandruk path and turn off to Jhinu Danda. The village is at the shore of the Modi River, there also is a natural hot source.14. Day - Jhinu Danda – Pothana (1890 MASL)
The hike today takes us down the river for a while. You hike through subalpine jungle and through rice and millet fields. Being in Pothana you will have a great view on the Annapurna chain once again.15. Day - Pothana – Pokhara
Early in the morning you are able to enjoy the sunrise over the mountains near by the hotel. The last part of your hike leads you to Dhampush Phedi. From there you will be driven to Pokhara. The rest of the day is at your own disposal.16. Day - Drive to the Chitawan National Park
17. Day - Chitawan National Park
You will start your day with a jungle tour on the back of an elephant. With a little luck you will see some rhinoceroses, tigers, antelopes, crocodiles, anteaters and other small animals. As well you will be able to see an extraordinary species-rich bird population. In the evening there will be a local cultural program.18. Day - Chitawan National Park
Canoe ride to an elephant-breeding-center. Afterwards you will drive with an ox-cart through Tharu-Villages back to the hotel.19. Day - Drive to Kathmandu

Requirements
You will find the level of difficulty and the type of accommodation of each journey in the program.
Equipment
You are going to get an equipment list as recommendation together with your travel documents. The equipment for a tent trekking (tent, mattresses etc.) will be organized locally.
Luggage
You are allowed to check in 20 kg as well as you can take 5 kg of hand luggage with you. If you would like to travel with a trolley case, we kindly ask you to take an additional big backpack with you. Luggage which you do not need while trekking can be deposit for free in Kathmandu.
Entry
For the entry to Nepal you need a passport which is valid further than 6 month after your departure date. You will receive your visa upon your arrival at the airport in Kathmandu. You will be told about the visa expenses while booking, since the fee changes from time to time.
Health
Himalaya Trekking suggests seeing your doctor or a tropical doctor as early as possible so you will be informed about current provisions regarding injections. Pharmacy or a doctor will help you regarding your personal trip first aid travel kit.
Group size
Himalaya Trekking guarantees for every tour. We do not have any minimum size for a group, but we do have a maximum of 12 persons per tour.
Tour program
The daily program should be seen as very flexible since we have to consider the local circumstances as well as your physical condition. Your guide will plan with you every evening the next day.
Travel documents
You are going to receive the detailed travel documents with general information as well as your flight tickets 2 to 3 weeks before departure.
Tipping
The tip for the local guides and carrier are not included in the travel costs. It is common to tip them for a good performance.
Accommodation and meals
The overnight stays in Kathmandu and Pokhara will be in a middle class hotel. The restaurants can be chosen individually, as lunch and dinner are not included in the travel costs.
During a lodge trekking the hike will be trough village to village. You will stay overnight in a basic hostel and you are going to have your meals there or in a restaurant on the way. During the camp trekking you are going to stay in one man or two-person tents and all the meals will be provided by private cook.
Insurance
Himalaya Trekking recommends having travel insurance as well as a cancellation protection. We also recommend having a copy of your police with you.
Climate
The weather in Nepal is nice. The summer is together with the monsoon season from June to October, the rest of the year is dry. There is mild climate in the Kathmandu valley, during the summer time around 20-30°C and in the winter time around 0-15°C.
Please consider the climate for your travelling plans, since the county covers a height form 75 MASL to 8848 MASL. Therefor the climate changes and if you are in the wrong place to the wrong time you will probably not see the Himalaya. However there still is a suited journey for every time period!
