Three Passes in Khumbu Trekking
You are going to hike in the Khumbu valley towards Thame. After crossing the Renjo-la pass, you will reach the Gokyo Valley. The wonderful landscape around Gokyo will impress you. From the viewpoint Gokyo Ri (5360 MASL) you are going to enjoy the view to the Mount Everest and other mountains which are around 7000 to 8000 meters high. Whether you are going to hike to Gokyo Ri or to Kala Patthar (5545 MASL) which is in another valley right on the opposite side you are going to have a breathtaking view from both peaks. If you like challenges this trekking will be perfect for you. You are going to cross three passes and will visit four lookout points above 5000 MASL.
1. Day - Departure Europe
2. Day - Arrival Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel
3. Day - Sightseeing Kathmandu
4. Day - Flight to Lukla (2850 MASL)
The spectacular one hour flight brings you to Lukla, the starting point of your trek. After the arrival you are going to enjoy your breakfast or lunch. After that you are going to start your hike easily to Phakding (2650 MASL).5. Day - Phakding – Namche Bazar (3434 MASL)
Firstly the hike follows for some time the Dudh Kosi River, a steep rise to Namche Bazar follows. If the weather stays good until the afternoon you are going to have a chance to take a first look on the Mt. Everest.6. Day Acclimatization Day Namche (3434 MASL)
Today you are going to take a trip to the surroundings of Namche Bazar; also you are going to visit the village. Namche Bazar is a main place of the region of Khumbu. The local population trade in this village with their goods and at some days is a market, where mainly clothes and household applicants form Chinese production are sold. As well there are numerous little shops with trekking clothing and outdoor equipment. Many bakeries offer delicious pastry and good coffee!7. Day - Namche – Khumjung (3780 MASL)
Today’s hike is short, but fascinating. On your way you are going to see the highest airport (Syangboche) of Nepal. As well you will see a Yak-breeding-center, a museum and the famous Hillary School. There you are going to enjoy the view on famous mountains like the Thamserku, the Ama Dablam and th Mt. Everest.8. Day Khumjung – Thame (3800 MASL)
The hike leads you to Thame. Thame is located in the Bhotekoshi Valley, which leads to the Nagpa-la pass. Many Tibetans cross this pass to get to Namche to sell their Tibetan goods.9. Day - Thame – Langden (4300 MASL)
After a five hour hike through the Bhotekoshi Valley you have reached Langden. There are not many cots, but still there are some possibilities to stay overnight. Langden is located not far from the Renjo-la base camp.10. Day - Acclimatization Day in Langden
11. Day - Langden – Gokyo (4780 MASL)
Today’s hike leads to the Renjo-la pass (5345 MASL). The hike is fairly long and there are no cots to have lunch. For that reason we have to bring some food along. If the weather is good at the pass you will have the same view than from the Gokyo Peak.12. Day - Trip To The Fifth Lake (5200 MASL)
Via the fourth lake you are going to hike just with a daypack to the fifth lake. The lake is located near the Cho-o-U base camp. The view of the Mt. Everest will be unforgettable. During the afternoon you will go back to Gokyo.13. Day - Gokyo-Ri (5360 MASL) – Thangnak (Cho-La Pass Base Camp 4700 MASL)
Today you are going to cross the Nagzompa Glacier, one of the biggest ice streams of Nepal, which is fed by the massif of the Cho Oyu (8201 MASL). This is an impressive experience. You are going to reach Thangnak (Cho-La Base Camp) at the other side of the glacier.14. Day - Thangnak – Dzongla (4830 MASL)
The hike is going into the direction of the Cho La Pass (5420 MASL). Today’s stage starts early in the morning, since the winds get stronger as the day progresses.15. Day - Dzongla – Gorakshep (5200 MASL)
You are going to hike via Lobuche to Gorakshep. In the afternoon you are going to climb up to the Kala Patthar (5545 MASL). There you will have a great chance to see the sunset above the Mt. Everest.16. Day - Gorakshep – Lobuche (4910 MASL)
Today you are able to visit the Everest base camp and hike back to Lobuche. The hike takes about 7 hours.17. Day Lobuche – Dingbuche (440 MASL) via Kongma La (5535 MASL)
This is another challenge. It starts early in the morning and goes over the Khumbu Glacier. After about 5 hours you are going to reach the pass and then it is going down to Dingbuche. Dingbuche is the highest perennial settlement in the Khumbu region. Enjoy the view on the mountain face of the Lohtse (8501 MASL)18. Day Dingbuche – Tyangbuche (3800 MASL)
In the afternoon you are going to visit a big Buddhist monastery in Tyangbuche. There you can attend a ceremony.19. Day Tyangbuche – Namche (3434 MASL)
Early in the morning you will have the chance to see the sunrise above the Himalaya chain. Afterwards you are going to hike back to Namche.20. Day - Namche – Lukla
From Namche we are going to take the same route back.21. Day - Flight to Kathmandu
Spectacular flight back to Kathmandu. After arriving, you will go back to your hotel and you will have the rest of the time at your own disposal.22. Day - Kathmandu

Requirements
You will find the level of difficulty and the type of accommodation of each journey in the program.
Equipment
You are going to get an equipment list as recommendation together with your travel documents. The equipment for a tent trekking (tent, mattresses etc.) will be organized locally.
Luggage
You are allowed to check in 20 kg as well as you can take 5 kg of hand luggage with you. If you would like to travel with a trolley case, we kindly ask you to take an additional big backpack with you. Luggage which you do not need while trekking can be deposit for free in Kathmandu.
Entry
For the entry to Nepal you need a passport which is valid further than 6 month after your departure date. You will receive your visa upon your arrival at the airport in Kathmandu. You will be told about the visa expenses while booking, since the fee changes from time to time.
Health
Himalaya Trekking suggests seeing your doctor or a tropical doctor as early as possible so you will be informed about current provisions regarding injections. Pharmacy or a doctor will help you regarding your personal trip first aid travel kit.
Group size
Himalaya Trekking guarantees for every tour. We do not have any minimum size for a group, but we do have a maximum of 12 persons per tour.
Tour program
The daily program should be seen as very flexible since we have to consider the local circumstances as well as your physical condition. Your guide will plan with you every evening the next day.
Travel documents
You are going to receive the detailed travel documents with general information as well as your flight tickets 2 to 3 weeks before departure.
Tipping
The tip for the local guides and carrier are not included in the travel costs. It is common to tip them for a good performance.
Accommodation and meals
The overnight stays in Kathmandu and Pokhara will be in a middle class hotel. The restaurants can be chosen individually, as lunch and dinner are not included in the travel costs.
During a lodge trekking the hike will be trough village to village. You will stay overnight in a basic hostel and you are going to have your meals there or in a restaurant on the way. During the camp trekking you are going to stay in one man or two-person tents and all the meals will be provided by private cook.
Insurance
Himalaya Trekking recommends having travel insurance as well as a cancellation protection. We also recommend having a copy of your police with you.
Climate
The weather in Nepal is nice. The summer is together with the monsoon season from June to October, the rest of the year is dry. There is mild climate in the Kathmandu valley, during the summer time around 20-30°C and in the winter time around 0-15°C.
Please consider the climate for your travelling plans, since the county covers a height form 75 MASL to 8848 MASL. Therefor the climate changes and if you are in the wrong place to the wrong time you will probably not see the Himalaya. However there still is a suited journey for every time period!
