Trip of a Lifetime! Rolwaling Valley into Khumbu over Tashi Laptsa October 2018
Growing up in the Cascade and Sierra Mountains of the United States, I had done a lot of back country trekking / camping, and I had seen a lot beautiful places. I never imaged I would ever get the opportunity to Trek the Himalayas - I always imagined it was too far away and too dangerous.
Kamal, the managing director of Himalaya Trekking GmbH took those worries away, and provided us with a life altering experience into the most amazing and remote wilderness. Our Team of Climbing Sherpas and Porters were hand picked for this trek, and provided us with a high level of experience and confidence. We always felt safe in this most remote and spiritual place.
Our team was extremely attentive to our needs, and had boundless energy to handle any situation as we became exhausted during acclimatization and beyond. They were always many steps ahead of us, whether it was to set up our tents and get dinner underway, or fixing the ropes and checking our harnesses and crampons on the glaciers.
Kamal met us in Kathmandu and introduced us to our team, and met with us again in Lukla to fly back with us for dinner in Kathmandu. It is my dream to return one day to Nepal and have Kamal prepare another adventure for us with either my team and our wives, or maybe just the guys again.
